Sustainable Learning launched

Solstice was pleased to hand over the new Sustainable Learning website to BRE who are now administering the scheme on behalf od DfES.

The website is now open to all schools in the UK and offers help and advice for managing energy and water.

An additional contract has now been awarded to Solstice to develop an accompanying certification module.


Solstice to develop online resource for the International Energy Agency.

Solstice recently attended the IEA Demand Side management workshop in Maastricht to demonstrate their proposed design and functionality for a new international online resource.

Once complete, project partners will be able to manage and publish electronic documents. The site will also feature comprehensive content management support and a powerful search engine.


Development of WRAP RC Toolkit version 2.0 to begin

Following a detailed and diverse consultation process, Solstice is starting development of a greatly extended version of the WRAP RC Toolkit.

Version 1.0 has been used extensively since its launch in early 2006, and Solstice were pleased to receive positive feedback from users which has helped to write a working specification for version 2.0


Save Your Energy For the Blue - Solstice wins contract with Ipswich Town FC and E.On

Solstice has been asked by Ipswich Town Football Club to develop an online pledge system to promote energy efficiency among its fans and supporters.

Club sponsors E.On working with the CRed Team have compiled a selection of energy saving pledges which fans can complete online. Solstice has been tasked with ensuring these are presented with fans via an informative and engaging high profile website.


DfES Energy and Water Tool Complete

An energy and water data collection tool designed and developed by Solstice on behalf of DfES has been launched and welcomed by Local Education Authorities across the UK.

Its primary use is to collect energy and water data from schools for government benchmarking and to help inform energy efficiency initiatives.

The system is now hosted and maintained on Solstice servers.


Market Transformation Program users to take advantage of new features

Solstice has been working closely with AEAT to introduce some new features to the online administration system for the Market Transformation Programme.

Following these developments, users are now able to upload word documents to the admin area where they will be automatically converted to PDF and posted onto the public facing website.


Solstice welcomes Department for Education and Skills (DfES) as a new client

Solstice has been contracted by DfES to develop an online energy and water data collection and benchmarking mechanism for schools in the UK. Solstice will be working closely with DfES and BRE to share knowledge and ideas during the parallel development of Sustainable Learning.


Solstice to develop online consultation resource for Chelveston Renewable Energy Park

Fourteen wind turbines are proposed to feature at Chelveston Renewable Energy Park, situated at the Chelveston Airfield site in Bedford. Solstice have been awarded with the contract to design and build an information exchange website and accompanying administration system, due for launch this summer.


WRAP Toolkit version 1.1

Following a successful launch in February, Solstice have been working closely with WRAP to further develop their evaluation tool for recycled content in construction projects. Version 1.1 features a host of extra functionality and has been developed following positive feedback from users.
